#IELTS Speaking Tips
IELTS speaking module takes 11-14 minutes and the examiner assesses you on the following parameters –
– Ideas and precision
– Coherence of Ideas
– Pronunciation & accent
IELTS speaking section will have 3 parts and the IELTS examiner will assess you on the above mentioned parameters. Hence, we can categorize these as follows –
Part 1 – In this part, examiner will ask you the following –
a. This is also called the Introduction part because in this part, you are asked questions about yourself.
b. Moreover, you can be asked as to why you want to go to a particular country.
c. Besides this, you may be asked about what do you want to pursue there and why are you interested in that.
Part 2 – In the second part, examiner will check you out on the following –
a. In this part, the examiner would give you a cue card and you would have questions related to a particular topic.
b. Furthermore, he/she will show you a Cue Card Question where related questions are given on a subject and you have to express your ideas in a cohesive manner.
c. The examiner expects you to speak for 2 minutes.
d. The preparation time given is 1 minute so that you can gather your thoughts.
Part 3 – The examiner in this part will ask you more questions. The details are as follows –
a. The approximate duration is 4-5 minutes and the examiner and you will have a discussion related to the subject of part 2 and other topics.
