AMCAT tests students from different fields in various domains with the help of an in-depth micro analysis in each domain.

The latest AMCAT test pattern consists of five modules, in which four (aptitude, verbal, logical and AMPI modules) are compulsory and two (computer literacy, computer programming principles and applications, electronics and semiconductors, civil engineering, mechanical and finance) are optional.

AMCAT Exam Pattern

Quantitative Ability –

The module is ideal to evaluate the numerical ability of an individual and is available in technical flavor.

Syllabus:

• Basic Numbers –Numbers/Decimal Fractions
• Applied Mathematics – Word Problem Interest/Word Problem Inverse/Word Problem Profit/Word Problem Speed/Word Problems
• Number Theory – Divisibility/HCF and LCM

English Module

The module evaluates written English skills and is aimed at determining the candidate’s ability to understand the written text , the spoken words and the ability to communicate effectively through written documents.

Syllabus:

• Vocabulary – Synonyms/Antonyms/Contextual Vocabulary
• Grammar – Error Identification/Sentence Improvement and Construction
• Comprehension – Reading Comprehension
• Probability

Logical Ability –

The module assesses capacity of an individual to interpret things objectively, to be able to perceive and interpret trends to make generalizations and be able to analyze assumptions behind an argument/statement.

Syllabus

• Deductive Reasoning – Coding deductive logic/Data Sufficiency/Directional Sense/Logical Word Sequence
• Objective Reasoning – Selection decision tables/Puzzles
• Inductive reasoning – Analogy Pattern Recognition/ Classification Pattern Recognition/Coding Pattern Recognition/Number Series Pattern Recognition
